Relevant evidence and factual responses are welcomed. Accurate criticism will not be removed merely because it is negative, and favourable content will not receive a different standard.
1. Who may request review
A contributor, service provider, affected worker, customer, rights holder, or reader may report a specific concern, even though providers are not named. Requests can address accuracy, missing context, privacy, copyright, impersonation, conflicts, authenticity or a material change such as a refund or corrected invoice.
Anonymous notices may be considered, but enough information must be provided to understand and assess the concern.
2. What a useful request includes
- The URL or clear description of the record.
- The exact sentence, image, document, or data point being challenged.
- Why it is inaccurate, incomplete, private, infringing, or otherwise problematic.
- The precise correction, redaction, or response requested.
- Relevant supporting material such as the complete invoice, written quote, timestamp, refund record, warranty, or correspondence.
- Your connection to the matter and a reliable way to contact you privately.
- If acting for a business or another person, sufficient information to confirm your authority.
Do not send unnecessary personal or financial information. Sensitive evidence should be minimized and transmitted only through the designated private contact method.
This process also covers comments, aliases and redacted invoice images. To stop displaying a permitted invoice copy, contact the editor with the record URL or reference. The editor can remove the public-copy selection while keeping the account public, or hide the entire record. Removal cannot recall copies independently saved by others.
3. How a request is reviewed
- We confirm receipt, normally within seven calendar days.
- We identify the precise disputed statement and preserve the relevant version and evidence.
- We assess the request against the original submission, supporting documents, and these policies.
- When appropriate, we ask the contributor or business for focused clarification without disclosing unnecessary personal information.
- We aim to provide an initial outcome within 21 calendar days. Complex matters may take longer, and these are service targets rather than guarantees.
No party receives control over the editorial decision merely because they supplied content, advertised, threatened legal action, or offered payment.
4. Possible outcomes
Depending on the evidence and risk, we may:
- Correct a factual error and add a dated correction note.
- Clarify whether information came from an invoice, the homeowner's recollection, or an opinion.
- Add material context, a refund, a later resolution, or a verified business response.
- Redact personal information or replace a document with a safer excerpt.
- Temporarily hide content while a material issue is investigated.
- Remove content that cannot be responsibly supported or safely published.
- Make no change when the existing record remains accurate, fairly presented, and policy-compliant.
A disagreement about an opinion or price assessment does not by itself establish a factual error.
5. Business response opportunity
A provider who believes a record concerns its work may privately submit a concise factual response. Identity and authority may be checked privately. Any public response is anonymized and must not reveal the homeowner or provider. It should address the particular work, pricing context, supporting evidence, refunds, warranty work or dispute.
Responses must not reveal a homeowner's private information, threaten or harass a contributor, advertise unrelated services, or make unsupported accusations. They may be edited for length, privacy, clarity, and policy compliance. The target maximum is 500 words.
The project will not accept payment, advertising, or another benefit in exchange for suppressing an accurate record, improving placement, or publishing a favourable response.
6. Privacy, safety, and urgent requests
Reports involving an exposed home address, signature, payment information, account credential, credible safety risk, impersonation, or similarly sensitive information will be prioritized and may be temporarily hidden before the full review is complete.
A temporary restriction is precautionary and does not determine the merits of the underlying service dispute.
7. Transparency and records
Material corrections to a published record should include a visible date and short explanation. Minor spelling, formatting, privacy, or clarity edits may be made without a correction note when they do not change meaning.
Original submissions, prior versions, relevant evidence, and correction communications may be retained privately as described in the Privacy Policy. They are not made public merely because a correction was requested.
If you believe important evidence was overlooked, you may request one reconsideration and identify the specific new information. Repetitive, abusive, or bad-faith requests may be closed.
8. Submit a correction or response
Correction and response contact: Contact email required before public launch
Use the subject line “Correction request” or “Business response” and include the record URL or reference number and information listed above.
This contact must be operational before any public record or collection opens.
A correction request does not waive any legal right or replace any formal method of service required by law. This process operates together with the Terms of Use and Submission Guidelines.
